Hands & Draws

Ace-high describes a hand whose highest card is an ace, with no pair or stronger combination. It can win at showdown against lower high-card hands. An ace-high straight or flush is a different, stronger hand category.

Example of Ace-High:
You hold A-Q on a K-9-7-4-2 rainbow board. You have ace-high because neither hole card pairs the board and you have no straight or flush.
