Klemens Roiter has finally converted a Triton final table into a victory, overcoming a huge heads-up deficit against Alejandro “Papo MC” Lococo to win the $20,000 NLH 8-Handed event at Triton Jeju II.
The Austrian collected $771,000 and his first Triton Poker title after reaching 11 previous final tables on the high-stakes tour without a victory.
It was far from a routine breakthrough.
Alejandro “Papo MC” Lococo tore through the final table and eliminated five opponents before taking a commanding chip lead into heads-up play. Roiter survived, doubled back into contention and completed a comeback that transformed what appeared to be Lococo’s tournament into a long-awaited first Triton title.
The victory continues a remarkable period for Roiter. He arrived in South Korea shortly after winning a €25,000 High Roller at EPT Barcelona, where he defeated Ottomar Ladva heads-up and collected €266,030.
Klemens Roiter Wins $771,000 at Triton Jeju II
The second event of Triton Jeju II attracted 174 entries at Les A Casino in South Korea, continuing a festival that had already produced a $3.09 million prize pool from its opening $15,000 tournament.
The $20,000 buy-in event generated a $3.48 million prize pool of its own.
Twenty-five players returned for the final day with at least $35,000 secured, but Roiter was not among the chip leaders.
He entered the day in the middle of the pack and at one point dropped as low as seven big blinds.
By the end, he had every chip in the tournament.

The result was particularly significant because of how often Roiter had already come close on Triton’s biggest stages.
He had accumulated 17 Triton cashes and reached 11 final tables without winning a title.
One of those near misses was enormous.
Earlier in 2026, Roiter finished runner-up to Danny Tang in the $100,000 Triton Montenegro Main Event, collecting $2.377 million after coming within one opponent of the title.
Jeju finally produced a different ending.
Alejandro Lococo Takes Control of the Final Table
For much of the final table, the story appeared destined to belong to Lococo.
The Argentine rapper and poker professional has established himself as considerably more than a celebrity player. His résumé includes a seventh-place finish in the 2021 WSOP Main Event and the extraordinary $12 million victory in the 2024 WSOP Paradise Triton Million.
Lococo started eliminating opponents at an extraordinary rate in Jeju.
Biao Ding was among his first victims after Lococo’s pocket deuces flopped a set.
Jesse Lonis was another casualty. The American arrived in Jeju following another strong run of results, including a $153,400 victory during CoinPoker’s GOPC in August.
His run in the $20K ended in eighth place for $94,000 after pocket jacks ran into trips for Lococo.
Yu Zhang departed in seventh after running into Justin Saliba’s pocket aces, while Chin Wei Lim followed in sixth at the hands of Mehdi Chaoui.
Then Lococo accelerated again.
Justin Chu went out in fifth before a huge three-way confrontation removed both Chaoui and Saliba.
All three players were committed before the flop, but Lococo found the club he needed on the river to complete the nut flush. Chaoui’s three of a kind and Saliba’s two pair were both beaten, producing a double elimination that sent Lococo into heads-up with a huge advantage.
Only Roiter remained.
Roiter Refuses to Go Away Heads-Up
Given what Lococo had just done to the final table, another major title appeared to be heading towards the Argentine.
Roiter instead began working his way back.
A double-up with jack-seven gave him enough chips to turn heads-up into a genuine contest.
The decisive swing came soon afterwards when Roiter made sevens full, reducing Lococo to just a single big blind.
The comeback was effectively complete.
Lococo found a pair on the following hand, but it was not enough to extend the contest.
Roiter had his first Triton title.
Roiter’s First Triton Title Ends a Remarkable Wait
Winning any Triton tournament is difficult. Reaching 11 final tables without winning one illustrates both how consistently Roiter had competed in these fields and how elusive the final step had become.
His previous results make the breakthrough even more significant.
Roiter finished third in the $104,000 PLO Main Event at Triton Jeju earlier in 2026 for $833,000 before producing the $2.377 million runner-up result in Montenegro.
His form continued away from Triton.
At EPT Barcelona in August, Roiter defeated a 39-entry €25,000 High Roller field containing the likes of Kayhan Mokri, Mehdi Chaoui and Jamie Dwan. Roiter and Ottomar Ladva agreed a heads-up deal before the Austrian secured the trophy.
That victory proved to be an ideal warm-up for Jeju.
This time, Roiter converted his latest deep Triton run into the title that had repeatedly escaped him.
Two Events, Two First-Time Triton Champions in Jeju
Roiter’s victory also continues an unusual start to the latest Triton festival.
Triton Jeju II began on September 4 with a $15,000 NLH tournament attracting 204 entries and generating a $3.09 million prize pool.
Alexandros Theologis eventually won that event for $642,000, securing his first Triton title.
Roiter has now immediately followed him onto the list of Triton champions.
That means the first two trophies of Jeju II have both gone to players winning on the tour for the first time.
And the stakes are only beginning to increase.
Bigger Triton Jeju II Events Are Still to Come
Triton Jeju II runs through September 17, with the largest tournaments still ahead.
The schedule builds towards the $200,000 Triton Invitational, followed by the $100,000 Main Event and a special $150,000 tournament celebrating Triton’s tenth anniversary.
For Lococo, there should therefore be plenty of opportunities to respond after coming so close in Event #2.
Roiter has a different problem now.
After 11 previous Triton final tables without a victory, the wait is over. Klemens Roiter is finally a Triton Poker champion.
