Stake Poker has signed Farid Jattin as its first poker ambassador, bringing Colombia’s all-time tournament money leader into the fold as the operator looks to build its poker business.

The Colombian pro has more than $10.5 million in recorded live tournament cashes, major titles on three continents and a reputation for putting opponents in tough spots.
Jean-Christophe Antoine, who heads Stake’s poker division, announced the deal on LinkedIn, referencing the platform’s recent launch in Mexico.
“Step by step Stake Poker is getting there… Welcome to the Team, Farid Jattin!”
Who Is Farid Jattin?
Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, Jattin moved to Miami aged ten to pursue baseball. He played catcher through high school and into college before switching his attention to poker.
His introduction to the game came through home games with baseball teammates. By 2010, he was already cashing in major tournaments, although Florida’s high-stakes cash games were initially his main hunting ground. Jattin subsequently developed into a tournament regular, mixing No-Limit Hold’em with Pot-Limit Omaha. He’s admired for applying relentless pressure and isn’t afraid to get chips in the middle.
His biggest cash came at the 2019 PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC), where he finished seventh for $746,000. Ramon Colillas eventually won that $25,000 event for $5.1 million.

Jattin’s 2020 Aussie Millions victory was particularly impressive. He outlasted 169 entries and chopped heads-up with George Wolff, collecting approximately US$679,000. He followed that by winning an Australian Poker Open PLO event later that month.
Despite his results, Jattin has never won a WSOP bracelet. He came close in 2022 and again in 2024, losing heads-up to Michael Wang and Bryce Yockey respectively. He also ran deep in the 2026 WSOP Main Event, finishing 82nd for $90,000.
Is Jattin Colombia’s Best Poker Player?
By recorded live tournament earnings, he’s comfortably number one. Colombia has produced several players capable of competing in large international fields, but nobody has come close to Jattin’s career total.
| Colombian player | Live earnings |
|---|---|
| Farid Jattin | $10,523,082 |
| Mauricio Salazar Sanches | $2,629,907 |
| Sebastian Camilo Toro Henao | $2,289,549 |
| Julian Pineda | $2,153,834 |
| Carlos Serrano | $1,916,479 |

Another notable Colombian is Daniel Ospina, who became the country’s first WSOP bracelet winner in 2018. He took down the $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw event for $87,678. Jattin remains Colombia’s biggest tournament earner by a considerable margin, although that doesn’t necessarily settle the argument over the country’s best player.
Who Are Stake Poker?
Stake was founded by Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani and launched in 2017. The cryptocurrency gambling business built its name through casino games, sports betting and major sponsorship agreements. The brand has worked with rapper Drake and appeared across UFC, Formula 1 and Premier League sponsorships.
Stake Poker is its player-versus-player poker operation, offering:
- Texas Hold’em and multiple Pot-Limit Omaha formats.
- Cash games and multi-table tournaments.
- Knockout and mystery bounty events.
- Fast-fold poker through its Next! format.
- Three-player JAQKpot! jackpot tournaments.
The international platform and US-facing Stake.us operate under different models and restrictions. Stake is not currently licensed to offer online poker in Great Britain.
What About the Rake?
Stake’s published international rules list 7% rake on standard Hold’em cash games, with caps depending on stakes and player count.
At $1/$2, the five-plus-player cap reaches $9. That’s 4.5 big blinds taken from a qualifying pot, which grinders should factor into their calculations.
Players considering Stake should look beyond the ambassador signing and check game traffic, rake, rewards and the quality of the opposition.
It’s the same issue driving the ongoing CoinPoker rake controversy, where players have questioned whether recent changes leave enough money on the table.
Jattin Moves From Phenom Poker to Stake
Jattin previously joined Phenom Poker’s ambassador team in 2024, a crypto-focused platform associated with players including Brian Rast and Dan Cates.
Phenom recently launched its 92-event poker series featuring 34 mixed-game tournaments.
Whether Jattin’s previous arrangement has formally ended remains unconfirmed, as do the financial terms of his new Stake deal. For Stake, signing a player with Jattin’s record gives the poker operation a recognisable face in Latin America.
But poker players will judge the room on its games, not its ambassador. If Stake can build traffic and offer competitive conditions, Jattin might help get players through the door. Keeping them there is another matter.
