Telli Swift is heading back to the Celebrity Poker Tour with unfinished business.
The reality television personality and businesswoman has confirmed she will play Celebrity Poker Tour Invitational XIII in Las Vegas on September 4, returning to a competition where she has already reached two final tables.
This time, simply making another deep run isn’t the objective. Swift wants the CPT Championship Belt.
The former WAGS Atlanta star has become considerably more comfortable at the poker table since first entering the celebrity poker circuit. She has now added World Series of Poker experience to her résumé and believes the combination of tournament experience and her ability to read people could make her particularly dangerous in a field containing less experienced celebrity players.
Two CPT Final Tables and Now WSOP Experience
Celebrity poker tournaments can be unpredictable by nature.
Fields often contain everything from experienced recreational players to celebrities still learning the finer points of tournament strategy. Swift is increasingly moving towards the experienced end of that spectrum.
Two CPT final tables have already demonstrated that she can navigate these fields, while playing at the World Series of Poker has exposed her to a considerably different poker environment.
That experience appears to have changed the way Swift approaches the game.
Rather than viewing her September 4 appearance simply as another television opportunity, she talks about poker in terms of decisions, calculated risks and putting herself into positions where she can win.
Her target couldn’t be much clearer.

Swift accepts that tournament poker can produce almost any outcome, but no longer sees herself as someone simply fortunate to have a seat at the table. Her previous CPT results have given her reason to believe she can compete for the title.

It’s advice she intends to follow herself.
She doesn’t need to be the most active player at the table to make an impact. Picking the right situations and identifying mistakes from opponents could prove considerably more valuable than simply creating television action.
And celebrity status disappears remarkably quickly when chips start moving across the felt.
Poker, Business and Life Away From the Cameras
Swift’s competitive streak doesn’t stop at the poker table.
Her career has crossed reality television, business and now increasingly poker. That combination puts her among a growing number of women turning poker skills into business success, where decision-making, patience, risk assessment and reading people can transfer surprisingly well between the felt and the boardroom.
Swift’s own description of poker as a strategic investment makes that crossover particularly relevant.
But she continues to describe raising her children and protecting her family life as more important than any professional achievement.
There is also an example she wants to set.
Pursuing ambitious goals, accepting risk and continuing to learn are values Swift wants her children to see, without allowing those ambitions to come at the expense of family.
Poker fits neatly into that philosophy.
There are decisions to make, risks to calculate and inevitably occasions when the result doesn’t go your way despite making the right choice.
Her recent move into WSOP events suggests poker is becoming more than an occasional celebrity appearance too.
Can Telli Swift Finally Win the CPT Belt?
Two final tables have put Swift close before.
September 4 offers another opportunity.
If she reaches heads-up play this time, Swift isn’t particularly interested in choosing an easy celebrity opponent. She would rather face someone familiar whose tendencies she has already had an opportunity to study.

It also says something about how seriously Swift now takes the game.
Celebrity Poker Tour inevitably mixes poker with entertainment, part of the wider crossover that has helped poker creators and personalities build audiences far beyond traditional tournament coverage. But underneath the cameras and recognizable faces, players still have to make decisions with real chips and a title on the line.
Swift has already come close twice.
With more experience behind her and a trip to the WSOP now added to her poker education, CPT Invitational XIII on September 4 could be her best opportunity yet to turn another deep run into her first Celebrity Poker Tour title.
