Poker Terms A–Z
X/R
X/R is common poker shorthand for check-raise. The letter x represents a check, while /r indicates a subsequent raise. You will often see the notation in hand histories, solver outputs and strategy discussion.
Example
A line written as “Flop: x/r 3x” means the player checked the flop and then raised the opponent’s bet to roughly three times its size.
