Playtech has launched its iPoker network in North America for the first time through a new partnership with FanDuel.
The gambling technology supplier is now powering online poker games on PokerStars, exclusively on FanDuel, in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as Ontario in Canada.

The launch marks a major step in Playtech’s North American expansion and makes FanDuel the company’s first poker licensee in the region.
Playtech said its iPoker platform is now supporting FanDuel customers across regulated markets in the US and Canada. The company described the move as a milestone for its poker technology, which already has a long track record across international regulated markets.
FanDuel Builds Around PokerStars
The move also strengthens FanDuel’s growing online gaming ecosystem.
FanDuel, owned by Flutter Entertainment, is already one of the biggest names in US sports betting and online casino. Adding PokerStars gives the brand a dedicated poker product backed by one of the most recognisable names in the game.
PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel launched in April across Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The product connects players across those three states, creating a shared player pool rather than keeping each market separate.
That shared liquidity is important for online poker. Bigger player pools can support more active cash games, larger tournament guarantees, and a wider range of formats.
FanDuel has also built poker into its wider account system, allowing customers to move between sportsbook, casino, and poker through a single wallet. That gives existing FanDuel users a smoother route into poker, while giving former PokerStars players a new home under the FanDuel brand.
Big Step for Playtech
For Playtech, the deal is another sign of its growing focus on regulated North American markets.
The company was founded in 1999 and has become one of the gambling industry’s major platform and content suppliers. Its products span poker, casino, live casino, bingo, sports betting technology, payments, and player management systems.
Playtech has already been expanding in the Americas, including through iGaming launches and live casino partnerships. Bringing iPoker to FanDuel now gives the supplier a high-profile poker entry point in the US and Canada.
Marat Koss, Playtech’s chief interactive gaming officer, called the launch a “defining moment” for Playtech’s North American expansion.
The partnership arrives at a time when regulated online poker operators are increasingly focused on scale, liquidity, and stronger cross-product ecosystems. For FanDuel, PokerStars adds a proven poker brand to its gaming portfolio. For Playtech, it delivers a major North American debut with one of the region’s most powerful operators.
