Garrett Adelstein is preparing to reopen one of the most controversial debates in modern poker with a documentary-style video examining the infamous jack-four hand against Robbi Jade Lew.
The high-stakes cash game player has revealed that he is working on a long-form YouTube project covering the hand and the extraordinary fallout that followed it.
More than three years after the incident became one of the biggest stories in livestream poker, Adelstein also says the project will contain information that has never previously been made public.
That could be enough to send poker’s most divisive debate straight back into the spotlight.

Adelstein has spent considerable time working on the project, which is expected to provide his most detailed account yet of what happened before, during and after the hand.
Rather than producing another poker hand analysis, the plan appears to be much broader.
The video is being developed in a documentary-style format, allowing Adelstein to revisit the events surrounding the game as well as the evidence and information he has gathered since.
Most significantly, Adelstein has indicated that some of the material has never been publicly revealed.
Exactly what that information contains remains unknown.
There is also no confirmed release date yet, although the documentary is expected to appear on Adelstein’s YouTube channel later in 2026.
Why Did the Garrett Adelstein and Robbi Jade Lew Hand Become So Famous?
The hand took place on Hustler Casino Live on September 29, 2022.
Adelstein held 8♣7♣ against Lew’s J♣4♥ on a board of 10♥10♣9♣3♥ when the action escalated into a six-figure confrontation.
Adelstein moved all-in on the turn.
Lew called.
It was the type of call that immediately demanded an explanation. Lew had no pair and only jack-high at the time she committed the money.
The players agreed to run the river twice. Lew remained ahead on both boards and won the pot.
What followed became considerably bigger than the hand itself.
Adelstein questioned whether the game had been legitimate, while Lew repeatedly denied cheating. Players, creators and poker fans began analysing footage, betting patterns, body language and virtually every other detail surrounding the game.
The debate quickly escaped the normal boundaries of poker strategy.
No Cheating Was Ever Proven
Despite the enormous amount of attention surrounding the hand, no definitive public evidence has established that Lew cheated Adelstein.
Hustler Casino Live commissioned an investigation into the incident, and its final report said investigators were unable to find direct evidence proving cheating had taken place in the hand.
The controversy nevertheless had lasting consequences.
Adelstein stopped appearing on Hustler Casino Live, where he had previously become one of the show’s biggest attractions.
Lew continued playing poker publicly and maintained that she had done nothing wrong.
Meanwhile, the poker community never reached anything close to a universal agreement over what it had witnessed.
That uncertainty is precisely why a new documentary could attract so much attention.
Adelstein Is Becoming a Poker Creator as Well as a Player
The project also arrives during an interesting period in Adelstein’s career.
For years, his reputation was built almost entirely at the poker table. He became particularly well known through televised and livestreamed high-stakes cash games, where enormous pots and difficult decisions made him one of the most compelling players to watch.
His public profile is now expanding beyond playing poker into the poker creator space.
