Elias Suhonen has added his name to the growing list of winners at EPT Barcelona, taking down the €10,200 No-Limit Hold’em event for €114,200 as the PokerStars festival continues to produce huge fields in Spain.
The Finnish player defeated Spain’s Vicente Delgado heads-up at Casino Barcelona, overcoming a 46-entry field packed with high-stakes regulars.
His victory came as the 2026 European Poker Tour Barcelona festival gathered pace, with the PokerStars Open Main Event attracting a remarkable 4,333 entries.
PokerStars has already experimented with the format of this year’s festival, including the introduction of a new no-bubble tournament at EPT Barcelona.
Elias Suhonen Takes Down €10,200 Event
Suhonen entered the final stages of the €10,200 tournament against a field containing several established names from the European high-stakes scene.
The event attracted 46 total entries, generating a €441,600 prize pool with the top six finishers reaching the money.
Suhonen eventually found himself heads-up against Vicente Delgado, a Spanish professional with millions in recorded live tournament winnings.
The Finn prevailed to secure the title and €114,200 first prize.
Delgado collected €88,300 as runner-up, while Austria’s Daniel Rezaei finished third for €68,400.

Suhonen’s victory adds another significant result to his live poker record and gives Finland an early trophy at one of the biggest European festivals of the year.
Finnish poker has already enjoyed a particularly memorable summer. Fellow Finn Lauri Saaskilahti reached the 2026 WSOP Main Event final table before eventually finishing runner-up to Lucas Jumalon in Las Vegas.
EPT Barcelona High Rollers Produce Familiar Winners
The €10,200 event is just one part of a busy opening week at Casino Barcelona.
Brock Wilson and Klemens Roiter have already captured two of the festival’s early high roller titles.
Wilson won the €20,000 No-Limit Hold’em event for €233,556, defeating Ottomar Ladva heads-up. Roiter then claimed the €25,000 event for €266,030 after also facing Ladva in the final heads-up battle.
That remarkable sequence left Ladva with consecutive runner-up finishes and more than €418,000 in combined prize money from the two tournaments.

PokerStars Open Main Event Draws 4,333 Entries
Away from the high rollers, one of the biggest numbers from Barcelona so far has come from the €1,650 PokerStars Open Main Event.
The tournament attracted 4,333 entries across its starting flights.
That turnout created a prize pool exceeding €6 million and underlined the scale of the Barcelona stop before the traditional EPT Main Event has even begun.
Barcelona has historically been one of the European Poker Tour’s most popular destinations, combining large recreational fields with many of the world’s leading tournament professionals.
The 2026 festival appears to be following the same pattern.
Thousands of players have already arrived at Casino Barcelona for the PokerStars Open schedule, while the €10K, €20K and €25K tournaments have brought many of poker’s established high-stakes players into action.
The huge numbers also arrive during a busy period for PokerStars. The operator recently unveiled the full 2026 WCOOP schedule, with 350 online world champions set to be crowned across the September series.
Bigger EPT Barcelona Events Still to Come
The festival runs through August 29, meaning Suhonen’s victory comes relatively early in the Barcelona schedule.
Attention will increasingly shift toward the €5,300 EPT Main Event, traditionally the tournament that defines the stop.
More high roller action is also scheduled, giving players who have already enjoyed strong starts another opportunity to add to their Barcelona totals.
Brock Wilson, Roiter and Suhonen already have trophies secured.
With thousands of players on site and the headline Main Event still ahead, however, many of the biggest results from EPT Barcelona 2026 are yet to be decided.
