APT Championship Returns With $8.1M Guaranteed

The Asian Poker Tour will return to Taipei for its 2026 APT Championship from November 13 to 29, with 209 events scheduled across 17 days at Red Space.

Nishant Sharma celebrates winning the 2025 APT Championship Main Event in Taipei, holding the Gold Lion trophy.

The festival’s 23 designated Championship Events carry more than $8.1 million in guarantees, putting a $5 million Main Event at the center of the series.

A packed return to Red Space

The APT Championship is being staged with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Club and follows the tour’s busy 2026 calendar, which has already produced landmark results such as Tomoyuki Maeda’s APT Jeju comeback. The program begins with the TWD 20 million guaranteed National Cup Championship, while the $10,000 APT Championship Main Event runs from November 23 to 27.

Players who buy directly into the Main Event will start with 50,000 chips, and the five-day structure uses 75-minute levels early before moving to 90 minutes later in the tournament. It is a meaningful contrast with many fast-moving festival schedules and gives the headline event the room expected of a $5 million guarantee.

PLO, mixed games, and a broad women’s schedule

The schedule extends well beyond no-limit hold’em, including a TWD 70,000, or about $2,200, Pot-Limit Omaha Championship on November 17 and 18, followed by a TWD 165,000 PLO High Roller. There is also a Mixed Game Championship, a Teams Championship, and a $1 million guaranteed Natural8 Cup Championship among the higher-profile events.

APT has listed 20 women-only tournaments during the festival, with the TWD 35,000 Women’s Championship set for November 19 and 20. That sits separately from the WPF initiative covered in Poker Type’s recent Women’s Poker Weekend report, but it adds another significant women’s program to the Asian live-poker calendar.

How players can approach the schedule

The Championship Events range from lower-cost local-currency buy-ins to the $50,000 Superstar Championship, so bankroll planning will matter as much as picking a format. Players looking for a route into the bigger events should keep an eye on satellites, a term explained in Poker Type’s poker terminology guide, rather than treating every headline event as a direct buy-in.

A deep tournament schedule rewards preparation, and online volume can be a useful way to sharpen decisions before a live series. Build your tournament routine at ACR Poker and arrive ready for the next major stop.
