CoinPoker is going bigger again.
Fresh from the conclusion of Battle of Malta Online, the crypto poker site is preparing to launch its biggest tournament series yet, with the new Global Online Poker Championship (GOPC) guaranteeing $50 million across more than 700 Medal Events.
The championship runs from August 23 to September 28, 2026, with separate schedules targeting players in Asia, Europe and Latin America.
At the center of it all is a $530 World Championship Main Event carrying a huge $4 million guarantee.
What Is the Global Online Poker Championship?
The GOPC is CoinPoker’s attempt to build a major online championship around one of poker’s most obvious problems: time zones.
Online tournament schedules have traditionally been dominated by European and North American peak hours. That can leave players elsewhere facing inconvenient start times, particularly when tournaments run deep into the night.
CoinPoker’s answer is to divide the GOPC into three regional schedules:
- Asia
- Europe
- Latin America
Events are scheduled around prime playing hours for those regions, while three different buy-in tiers are designed to make the championship accessible to a much wider range of bankrolls.
The result is a five-week festival featuring more than 700 Medal Events and $350,000 in additional prizes and rewards.
$4 Million Guaranteed in the GOPC Main Event
The biggest tournament on the schedule is the $530 World Championship Main Event.
It comes with a $4 million guarantee, making it one of CoinPoker’s biggest tournaments of 2026.
Players with smaller bankrolls aren’t being left out, either.
The $55 Mini Main Event guarantees $1 million, while the $11 Mini Mini Main offers a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.
All three conclude on September 28.
That gives the championship three headline Main Events at dramatically different price points, from an $11 entry all the way up to the $530 flagship.
Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals Are Up for Grabs 🥇🥈🥉
The Olympics-style format goes much further than simply putting “Championship” in the tournament names.
More than 700 tournaments during the GOPC will be designated Medal Events, with players finishing first, second or third receiving gold, silver or bronze medals.
Gold medal winners will also receive physical gold-plated medals, while podium finishers can collect digital medals in their CoinPoker Trophy Cabinet.
Those finishes have another purpose.
Every medal contributes points toward the GOPC Podium Race, with $20,000 shared among the five players who accumulate the strongest medal records during the series.
That creates an interesting alternative to a conventional tournament leaderboard. Winning events matters enormously rather than simply grinding as much volume as possible.
CoinMillion Gets a GOPC Edition
One of CoinPoker’s biggest regular tournaments will also become part of the championship.
The $215 CoinMillion GOPC Edition begins on September 6 and guarantees another $1 million.
Day 1 starts at 15:30 UTC on September 6, with surviving players returning for Day 2 at 16:30 UTC on September 7.
The same Sunday also includes a $55 CoinMinion with a $250,000 guarantee and an $11 Mini CoinMinion guaranteeing $100,000.
Before the GOPC even begins, players have another chance at the regular CoinMillion on Sunday, August 9, with free Step 4 qualifiers and direct satellites starting from $5.50 available through CoinPoker.
$350,000 in Extra GOPC Rewards
Tournament guarantees aren’t the only money CoinPoker is putting behind the championship.
Another $350,000 in added value will be distributed through three promotions.
Comeback Lanes accounts for $250,000 of that total. Players can earn points from eligible tournament entries where they fail to cash, eventually converting those points into tournament tickets.
Another $80,000 is available through Top 10 Leaderboards, which rank players using their ten best results rather than simply rewarding whoever plays the most tournaments.
The remaining $20,000 belongs to the Podium Race.
Together, those promotions give players something to chase even when they aren’t battling for one of the championship’s biggest final tables.
CoinPoker Continues Its Huge 2026 Tournament Push
The timing of the GOPC is significant.
CoinPoker has spent much of 2026 aggressively expanding its tournament schedule.
The World Poker Masters featured a $2.5 million guaranteed Main Event earlier this year, while Battle of Malta Online concluded on August 3 after generating more than $35 million in prize pools across 764 tournaments.
Now the GOPC arrives just three weeks later with $50 million guaranteed.
CoinPoker has also confirmed a separate $25,500 Global Championship with a $1 million guarantee as part of Championship Sunday, giving high-stakes players something substantial to target alongside the Main Events.
Is CoinPoker Trying to Build a New Online Poker Major?
That’s perhaps the most interesting part of the GOPC.
Online poker already has several established championship series, and breaking into that group requires more than simply attaching a large guarantee to a tournament schedule.
CoinPoker is trying something slightly different again, right after the announcement of the CoinPoker 3-Bet Club just a few days ago.
Three regional schedules address the time-zone problem. Three buy-in levels broaden access. Medal Events give the series an identity, while the $50 million overall guarantee provides the scale expected from a major online festival.
The numbers are substantial, too. Battle of Malta Online attracted more than 528,000 entries, suggesting CoinPoker now has the traffic required to support increasingly ambitious tournament schedules.
The Global Online Poker Championship begins August 23, with the final Main Events concluding on September 28.
If CoinPoker can turn those guarantees and regional schedules into strong fields, the GOPC could become much more than another tournament series on an increasingly crowded online poker calendar.
