Equity
Equity is your share of the pot based on the probability that your hand will win or tie by showdown. It changes as cards are revealed and as the range of possible hands changes.
Example
If your hand has 40% equity in a 100 pot, its theoretical share of that pot is 40 before accounting for future betting decisions.
