Someone is guaranteed to become a poker millionaire on CoinPoker next month, and they could do it from a direct buy-in of just $250.
The crypto poker room has announced The One, a new online tournament carrying a $5 million guaranteed prize pool and a guaranteed $1 million first prize. It is the largest single-tournament guarantee CoinPoker has ever offered, with the inaugural event beginning on October 4.
$250 Buy-In, $1 Million Guaranteed to the Winner
The headline number is not simply the $5 million prize pool.
CoinPoker has guaranteed that the eventual champion will receive at least $1 million. That means first place is worth a minimum of 4,000 times the $250 direct buy-in.
The scale makes The One an unusual proposition in online poker, where seven-figure first prizes are normally associated with much larger buy-ins or enormous championship events. CoinPoker is instead attempting to put a millionaire-making prize within reach of a much wider field.
Players may not even need to pay the full $250.
Freerolls, step satellites and direct satellites will provide alternative routes into the tournament. Full details of the qualification schedule are expected to be released closer to the opening flight.
The One Will Have 26 Starting Flights
Finding the eventual millionaire will take more than a single day.
A total of 26 Day 1 flights will run between October 4 and October 12, with most days featuring three starting times designed to accommodate players across different time zones. Additional turbo flights are scheduled for October 12 before Day 2 begins later that day.
Players can qualify through more than one starting flight, but their stacks will not be combined. Anyone reaching Day 2 multiple times will instead carry forward their largest qualifying stack.
The structure gives players repeated opportunities to reach the second day while allowing CoinPoker to build the enormous field required to cover a $5 million guarantee from a $250 entry fee.
CoinPoker Goes Even Bigger After $50M GOPC
The timing means CoinPoker is barely giving itself a break between two of its biggest tournament projects.
The CoinPoker Global Online Poker Championship is currently running with $50 million guaranteed across more than 700 Medal Events. The series concludes on September 28, leaving less than a week before The One begins on October 4.
GOPC represents the largest tournament series CoinPoker has attempted, while The One will set a different record as its largest individual tournament guarantee.
It continues an aggressive expansion of CoinPoker’s tournament offering in 2026. The platform has also been experimenting away from its traditional tournament schedule, recently launching the new K-Poker format with forced preflop action and fixed bet sizes.
One Winner Gets More Than $1 Million
The money will not be the only reminder of the victory.
CoinPoker says the first champion will receive a unique engraved physical trophy. A digital version will also be added permanently to the winner’s Trophy Cabinet on the platform.
The operator describes The One as an annual event, meaning the October tournament is intended to become a recurring fixture rather than a one-off experiment.
That makes the first champion particularly significant.
Twenty-six starting flights, a $5 million guarantee and thousands of potential entries will ultimately be reduced to one player. Whoever survives them all is guaranteed to leave CoinPoker at least $1 million richer.
