PokerType Launches Event Spotlight for Poker Organisers

A great poker tournament needs more than a decent structure and a chunky guarantee. Players need to know it’s happening, how to get involved and what makes it worth adding to their calendar.

Promotional graphic for PokerType’s Event Spotlight launch, featuring bold red and navy text, two stage spotlights, poker cards and chips, and a central event card with a trophy, calendar date and tournament details.

That’s why PokerType has launched Event Spotlight, a new homepage feature designed to give live poker festivals, tournament series and online events more visibility. We’ve also introduced a dedicated promotion service for organisers looking to get their events in front of poker fans.

A New Home for Poker Events

Visitors to PokerType.com will now see Event Spotlight alongside Poker News Today on desktop. On mobile, Event Spotlight takes the lead position, appearing before the latest poker headlines.

Each spotlight gives players a quick look at the tournament without forcing them to hunt through a lengthy announcement or PDF schedule. Event artwork, dates, venue information, headline buy-ins and a link to further details are presented together.

The aim is straightforward. Give organisers a prominent place to showcase their tournament while giving players the information they need to decide if it’s one for their diary.

Our first featured event is the Trident Poker Series aboard World Legacy, scheduled for December 4–6, 2026. The three-day festival features a S$700 Main Event, S$500 Mystery Bounty and S$350 Deepstack Turbo, combining tournament poker with a cruise experience in Southeast Asia.

The Trident coverage provides an example of how a tournament can be presented on PokerType, with the event’s details backed by a dedicated article.

More Than a Homepage Placement

Event Spotlight is only one part of our new offering. PokerType has launched a dedicated Promote Your Poker Event page, outlining the different ways organisers can work with us.

An organiser running a weekend festival may need a homepage placement and a tournament preview. A larger series could benefit from a campaign that begins before registration opens and continues through the final table.

Our promotion options include:

OpportunityWhat it offers
Homepage Event SpotlightA prominent event card featuring key tournament information
Dedicated Event PageA central place for schedules, formats, venue information and registration links
Pre-Event PreviewAn introduction to the series, its structure and notable tournaments
Festival UpdatesCoverage opportunities for verified results, developments and schedule changes
Social Media PromotionEvent announcements, reminders and links through PokerType’s social channels
Results and Winner StoriesFinal-table results, prize payouts, player performances and festival recaps

Organisers can discuss individual placements or combine several opportunities into a wider campaign. The content, timing and promotional arrangements are agreed in advance.

There’s no fixed package that every event has to fit into. A local $150 tournament and a major international festival have different audiences, schedules and promotional requirements, and we want the options to reflect that.

Giving Players Something Useful

Poker players want details, not just a poster telling them there’s a big tournament coming.

What’s the starting stack? How long are the blind levels? Is late registration available? Are there multiple starting flights, a re-entry option or a satellite route into the Main Event?

For live events, there’s another layer of information. Players travelling to a festival want to know about the venue, accommodation, registration arrangements and how the schedule fits together.

That’s the sort of practical information we want to help organisers communicate.

A useful event page can give players those answers before they commit to travelling or buying in. It can also provide a permanent reference for subsequent results and winner stories once the chips have been bagged for the final time.

Independent Coverage Remains Independent

PokerType’s news coverage and commercial promotion are two different things.

Paid Event Spotlight placements and sponsored content will be clearly identified. An advertising arrangement does not guarantee independent editorial coverage, favourable reporting or a particular tournament result being featured.

Organisers can also send us news tips and tournament information without purchasing promotion. We will continue to select editorial stories based on their relevance and interest to poker readers.

Our goal is to build useful relationships with tournament operators, poker venues and event teams while keeping those boundaries clear.

Running a Poker Event? Get in Touch

We’re inviting organisers of live tournaments, online poker festivals, regional circuits and international series to discuss upcoming events with PokerType. You don’t need a finished promotional campaign before contacting us. An event name, location or platform, approximate dates and a draft schedule are enough to start a conversation.

If you already have confirmed tournament structures, registration information, artwork and promotional material, even better. We can discuss how to turn those details into useful coverage for players.

Visit our Poker Event Promotion page to explore the options, or email info@pokertype.com with details of your event.

The cards might not be in the air yet, but there’s no reason players shouldn’t already know what’s coming.
