Mike Leah started Monday with two WSOP bracelets and a fairly public desire to add another. A few hours later the Canadian had bracelet number three, then came within one river card of putting himself in position to win number four on the same night.
Leah won the C$600 Ultra Stack event on GGPoker Ontario for C$47,482 after beating a 535-entry field. He then went deep in the C$400 PLOSSUS, reaching its final table and getting involved in a monster pot with five players remaining that could have left him holding close to all the chips in play.
Mike Leah Gets Bracelet Number Three
The first half of Leah’s Monday double-header went about as well as he could have planned. Both tournaments resumed at 6pm local time, but Leah began the Ultra Stack already at the final table while also returning among the final 61 players in the PLOSSUS.
Just over two hours later, the first job was finished. Leah had converted his Ultra Stack final-table seat into victory, collecting C$47,482 and his third career World Series of Poker bracelet.
The result continues a remarkable 2026 for a player who had waited more than a decade between his first two bracelets. Leah’s first came at the 2014 WSOP Asia Pacific festival, while his second arrived earlier this year when he won the Rounder Cup at WSOP Europe in Prague.
That Prague victory was worth €292,000 and ended an 11-year wait for another bracelet. Less than six months later, the Canadian has added a third, this time without having to leave Ontario.
Poker Type recently covered the scale of Canadian poker when the WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event generated more than C$13 million at Playground. Leah was among the recognizable Canadian names in that field, but his latest piece of WSOP hardware has arrived online.
One River Card From a Dream Double
Winning one bracelet did not give Leah much time to celebrate. He was still alive in the PLOSSUS and, around two hours after securing the Ultra Stack title, had reached another final table.
With seven players remaining, Leah sat fourth with 63 big blinds. By the time the tournament reached five-handed play, he became involved in a pot worth roughly 29 million chips against leader Alex Di Felice, representing close to 70% of all the chips then in play.
The money went in on the turn with Leah holding around 60% equity. Had his hand held, he would have been in an extraordinary position to chase a second bracelet in the space of a few hours, but the river went the other way.
Leah later summed it up on X as being one card away from having “ALL THE CHIPS.” He still collected around C$16,000 in prize money and bounties from the PLOSSUS run, but the near miss left a tantalizing question over just how close poker came to seeing a two-bracelet night.
A Big Year for Canadian Online Poker
Leah’s win also lands during a busy stretch for online bracelet poker. Poker Type has followed the international series closely, including Andrii Novak’s WSOP Online Main Event victory for $3.93 million and Alessio La Francesca’s rapid-fire bracelet double.
Ontario operates separately from the international GGPoker player pool, giving players physically located in the province their own bracelet schedule. That is also why Daniel Negreanu travelled back to Canada this month for his own WSOP Online bracelet hunt.
For Leah, the location could hardly be more appropriate. The Toronto-area pro has spent two decades building one of Canada’s strongest tournament résumés, with close to $10 million in recorded tournament winnings before this week’s online results were added to the picture.
Leah Has Already Updated the Bracelet Count
There was a neat bit of self-inflicted pressure attached to the result. Before Monday, Leah’s X biography described him as a father of two and a winner of two WSOP bracelets, followed by the line that he really wanted to increase one of those totals.
He has now updated the bracelet number to three while leaving the ambition intact. Given how close the PLOSSUS run came to changing that number again only hours later, the edit may not be the last one he makes.
There are still two bracelets scheduled in the 2026 WSOP Online Ontario festival. The C$525 Closer Bounty is due on October 4 before the C$1 million guaranteed Main Event resumes on October 5, giving Leah another chance to turn an already memorable series into something even bigger.
